Qingdao in Chinese means 'Green Island'. Famous for its seaside setting and excellent weather, it attracts large amounts of tourists. It is the host city for sailing events in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

~Laoshan Taiqing Palace( 嶗山太清宮 )~
Laoshan is a famous Taoist mountain in Qingdao, and Laoshan Taiqing Palace is one of the major tourist spots in Laoshan. It occupies an area of over 30,000 square metres, and has a history of over 2,000 years.

~View from Xiaoyu Shan( 小魚山景觀 )~
The photos below were taken from Xiaoyu Shan ('Little Fish Hill') and has a magnificent view of the European-style buildings in Qingdao. The first photo is a panorama stitched together using Photoshop CS (please scroll to the right to view entire panorama).

Zhanqiao Pier has been widely accepted as the offcial symbol of Qingdao. The bridge is 440m long and is the first wharf in Qingdao. It was built in 1891 during German occupation of Qingdao. Some photos below consists of seagulls shot near the Zhanqiao Pier.
